Muna is 13 years old and is now going to school for the first time. Her father was killed when she was just three, and in a place like Somalia, where school enrollment rates are among the lowest in the world and illiteracy for girls among the highest, she stood a little chance at an education. Muna is just one of the many girls impacted by our Girl Power initiative. Currently only 17% of Somali children go to school and the majority are boys.
